SUMMARY:Jumping Jack Golf Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Jumping Jack Golf Tournament has been a staple in the Westminster community for the past 18 years. The event aims to raise funds for PPMD (Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy) with a specific focus on Duchenne muscular dystrophy\, a genetic disorder characterized by the progressive loss of muscle. Over the years this grassroots-powered event has raised over $800\,000 with the support of a strong and caring following.\n\n\n\nIn 2004 the tournament was founded by Angela and Darrell Knight to raise money in support of their son Jack\, who has Duchenne. For years this was Angela's passion. She put her heart and soul into everything in support of their son and countless others living with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophy. Unfortunately\, Angela passed away a couple of years ago and her family and the community lost a truly amazing person. Darrell took over running the tournament for one last year to honor Angela and all she did to raise money for this cause.\n\n\n\nTaking over the reins now are Brock and Christine Walker. They have been involved with the tournament for the last 10 years and know how big of an impact this event has on the PPMD community. They are excited at the opportunity to carry on the legacy Angela and Darrell created and will not let this amazing charity event come to an end.\n\n\n\nThis is a perfect opportunity to enjoy a top-notch golf experience on an absolutely beautiful course. We have a lot of fun plans for our golfers and guests\, both on the course and at the clubhouse. This includes a silent auction\, wine pull\, gift card pull\, hole contests\, plus much more! G's Burritos will be serving up a delicious taco bar for lunch\, and Carrabba's Italian Grill will be catering a mouthwatering dinner. We will be presenting a wine tasting for all to enjoy as well. We do have some other surprises up our sleeve\, so come on out to the event and we can't wait to show you all we have in store!\n\n\n\nGolf\, shopping\, food\, and wine in addition to great people getting together for a great cause\, all while at a beautiful venue.\n\n\n\nAll proceeds benefit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy\, a non-profit organization founded in 1994 by parents of children with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophy whose mission is to support and fund ongoing research efforts. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is the most common lethal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood. It is a progressive muscle disorder that causes gradual loss of muscle function and independence. To date\, there is no cure. For more information on this disease as well as PPMD\, visit www.parentprojectmd.org.\n\n\n\nEntry fees\, auction purchases\, and all other donations are tax deductible. We are currently seeking donated items for our auction as well as event sponsors. For information about auction items or sponsorship opportunities\, please contact \n\nChristine and Brock Walker at jumpingjackgt@gmail.com.
