    Chamber CEO Moving On
Juliet Abdel leaving to work for the Greater Topeka Chamber

(Denver, CO – Sept. 15) Westminster President & CEO, Abdel is resigning November 13th to take a job leading the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce in Topeka, KS.

Abdel came to the Westminster Chamber in January 2017, after serving as Chief Operating Officer for the Oklahoma Trucking Association. During her nearly seven-year tenure with the organization, Abdel is credited with building the chamber and playing a key role in policy and economic development efforts to attract, retrain and grow the business community.  With an astronomical growth in membership of over 60%, the development of 125 programs/events, 175 custom marketing options for businesses, and significant items like the passage of the sign code, comprehensive plan, sales tax simplification, covid responsive needs and tools that facilitate international trade along with industry relocation.

“Abdel’s efforts have positioned the Chamber well to attract a number of quality, high caliber candidates” Brown said.

“When she first got here, we were still young and very much needed someone who knew what to do to take this organization to the next level” said Bryan Head, Past Chair.

“It is always hard to lose an executive, especially one that’s been such a dynamic force in our community”  he said. “We knew that an opportunity would have to be pretty amazing for her to consider it - and we are so glad to see her stay in the industry as a peer and continue the positive work she does elsewhere”.

“ I am so very proud of the work that has been achieved, and what's ahead. So many opportunities are already on the cusp of realization here in Westminster" Abdel said. “I know the next leader will take this organization even further - building on the successes we have today.”

Applications for the position of chamber ceo will open as early as Monday, September 18th
