Earlier this fall, the REMI Partnership released a study, Anticipating a State Option For Health Care: Will Businesses Face Higher Costs Or Will Quality and Access be Cut? The study examined the possible unintended consequences of implementing a state option including the impact on the economy, rural Colorado, and the quality of Colorado's current system.

On October 8th, the Polis Administration unveiled Colorado's plan that would create a public option – a state-run insurance program – which offers the promise of lower premiums. Details of the plan can be found here. The Administration is scheduled to release the final proposal on November 15th.
