Level Clear & Masking Key Messages
    Updated May 18, 2021
Important: Please continue to be vigilant as the county fully reopens.

As Jefferson County moves into Phase 2 (Observation Period — May 16-August 15, 2021) of its reopening plan outlined in Jefferson County Public Health’s (JCPH) Public Health Order 21-001, and as mask requirements are relaxed, we have prepared key messages below that can be used to communicate about these changes. Under Phase 2, the county will enter Level Clear, which means there will be no required mitigation steps or capacity limits for businesses, with the exception of statewide mask requirements in certain high risk settings for unvaccinated individuals and any other requirements set by the State of Colorado or Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Under Level Clear, JCPH will monitor hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and can apply restrictions if necessary to protect the health and safety of residents (see below for more information).

We reiterate to our community that COVID-19 is still circulating in Jefferson County and across the Denver Metro Area, and until more individuals are vaccinated, we should continue to take actions that prevent the spread of disease. In addition to getting vaccinated, wearing a mask if you are unvaccinated, washing your hands frequently and avoiding crowds when possible are still critical steps to help stop the pandemic and ensure Jeffco businesses and activities can remain fully open.
