Today, 70% of people say they either hate or are actively disengaged in their jobs. They wake up on Monday morning wishing to do anything but have to go to work. It is clear that the way we approach work today is broken. We have outgrown the norms of management practices of old, and moved in to a new way people want to work, all spurred by technology. If you find yourself having trouble with employee engagement, loyalty, buy-in, and high turnover, it’s time to look at your culture. The next generation of top talent demands more from work than just a paycheck, and the standard benefits packages aren’t enough to keep them around. You have to become a company that doesn’t just talk about culture, but lives it every day. This session will give you an in-depth look at how today’s normal work cultures are disconnected from their employees, what top talent seeks from a work environment, and what companies will have to do moving forward in order to attract and retain better employees.
About Patrick Kelly Patrick Kelly is the founder and President of Change Point Consulting. He began his career in the corporate world working as a consultant for a global real estate organization, working with business owners all over the world on issues around growth strategies, attracting talent, marketing, and building engaging and empowering cultures. Through his tenure, Patrick began to see common issues arise: the struggles of what the generational gap and difficulties of a lacking core culture can do on a company. This gap, built around the technological and social revolutions happening today, is affecting the ability to attract and retain top talent for most companies. As a Millennial himself, he understands the mentality of the generation, while also having corporate and business operations experience. He sees a need to help bridge this gap, to help organizations and groups create work environments that are engaging, motivating, and at the end of the day, more profitable by creating unique cultures that the next generation of talent want to be a part of. And thus, Change Point Consulting was born.
