Point in Time Homelessness Survey and Event
The Point in Time count is a survey of those experiencing homelessness in our community at a single point in time, on the night of Monday, Jan. 28, 2019.
The City of Westminster is hosting our second “Everyone Counts” magnet event at the Swim and Fitness Center at 3290 W 76th Ave, Westminster, CO from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019.
The count helps estimate the number of people experiencing homelessness on any given night. It is also a requirement for all communities that receive HUD funding, and the responsibility of the Continuum of Care, the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI). Point in Time counts are reported to Congress by HUD, are often cited in the media, and are used for grant writing and planning, both of which help secure support to address homelessness concerns. This makes participation important!
Trained Growing Home staff members will interview participants using a standardized survey form.
The City of Westminster is providing the space, outreach, and free showers with a supply of towels for use at the magnet event.
